Recent developments
In March 2022, Sudan has twice raised local fuel prices due to the Russia-Ukraine military conflict since 2021. Gasoline prices reached SDG 672 (USD 1.46) per liter from SDG 542 (USD 1.18).
Moreover, in May 2022, the Sudanese Ministry of Energy and Oil launched an investigation into gasoline at fuel stations that was found to be non-compliant with official specifications. This investigation follows a series of complaints about adulterated gasoline and malfunctioning vehicles.
