Timeline for biofuels blending

Assuming the Energy Information Administration’s long-term outlook for gasoline consumption, that ethanol production up to 2025 will remain stable, and that there will be an increase of E15 as shown in this report, our forecast for biofuels blending in the U.S. up to 2025, is illustrated in the figure below. We expect E10 to remain the most common gasoline blend in the U.S. Demand will decrease thanks to fuel economy standards and the introduction of electric vehicles, but gasoline demand will remain high. We expect E15 and E85 to start to gain market share over time, but it will remain low compared to E10.
