Policies supporting EV charging and hydrogen refueling stations

To further increase the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), South Korea’s government has granted subsidies to mitigate initial investment costs and encourage private companies to build public EV charging and hydrogen refueling stations (HRS).

In South Korea, subsidy policy for EV charging stations is regulated by the Ministry of Environment (MOE) for alternate current (AC) or slow chargers and by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for direct current (DC) or fast chargers.
