Projection
SGS INSPIRE estimates Peru’s fuel ethanol demand will reach 233 million liters per year during 2024-2025. This means an increase of about 13% compared to 2023. Fuel ethanol consumption will increase as gasoline consumption and attempts to fulfill the ethanol mandate increase. Domestic production is not expected to increase during 2024-2025 compared to 2023, despite the installed idle capacities.
SGS INSPIRE does not expect second-generation bioethanol to be produced in Peru. No changes are expected regarding the ethanol mandate in Peru until 2030. The only scenario where the bioethanol mandate is likely to be increased is in the possible case of high-cost gasoline imports.
