Recent developments

In April 2020, the state-owned petroleum company, Nepal Oil Corporation decided to import the India’s Bharat Stage VI diesel, which is Euro VI-enabling fuel standards.

In May 2024, the Nepal government, in collaboration with the Chinese government, initiated a petroleum exploration project in Dailekh. By November 2024, drilling progress had surpassed 55% completion.
