Quality specifications
As of the end of November 2024, Nepal has not developed a fuel quality and exhaust emissions standards roadmap.
The Nepal Oil Corporation Limited (NOC), a state-owned trading enterprise, is the sole importer of petroleum products, including gasoline. It has a special agreement with Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Therefore, Nepal follows India’s vehicle exhaust emission and fuel quality standards.
Conventional gasoline
Gasoline sold in Nepal is primarily imported from India. Therefore, it follows India’s gasoline standards.
