EU: European Commission launches Anti-Dumping Investigation against Chinese biodiesel imports

Following an official complaint by the European Biodiesel Board in November 2023, the Directorate General of TRADE of the EC announced in December an Anti-Dumping investigation into the imports of Chinese biodiesel in December 2023. Several European biodiesel producers have raised concerns about large-scale fraud involving certification under (RED II). This led to investigations into the circumvention of duties on Indonesian biodiesel through China, but other potential imbalances are being investigated as well, so that European biodiesel producers can compete with their Chinese counterparts on a level playing field.If dumping is confirmed and is found to be harming EU producers, the EC may impose duties on imports
