SGS INSPIRE has recently learned that Indonesia Power, a sub-holding company of state-owned electricity company PT PLN, is building Indonesia’s first hydrogen refueling station (HRS) in Senayan, Jakarta.
This HRS, expected to be commissioned in February 2024, will use green hydrogen produced in the country by PT PLN from electrolysis and geothermal power generation.
According to Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission Roadmap 2060, hydrogen share is expected to be around 5-10% of total energy supply.
In October 2023, the first green hydrogen plant, with a production capacity of 51 tonnes/year, was commissioned and began operations. As of January 2024, PT PLN has 21 green hydrogen plants across Indonesi
