This event organized by the European Commission and led by its research department - the Joint Research Center (JRC), gathered over 1300 participants from 54 countries to discuss the role of renewable carbon to achieve a net zero carbon economy.
Some of the key takeaways from the conference discussions are:
•the importance of carbon management to unlock climate neutrality
•the different sink solutions available for biomass in a circular bioeconomy
•the fact that biomass resources are limited therefore should be prioritised where mostly needed and bring maximum benefits
•the solution that biomass combined with e-hydrogen brings to achieve higher biogenic carbon conversion
•the variety of different biobased carbon dioxide removals approaches which have large potential for achieving negative emission
