Viet Nam: Vietnam Airlines released its SAF adoption plan

On January 1, 2025, Vietnam Airlines began using a 2% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blend for flights departing from European airports. The airline also announced two SAF adoption plans, including one for flights departing from airports in Europe and the United Kingdom (UK).

Starting from this date, Vietnam Airlines has committed to gradually increasing its SAF blend usage for European departures to 6% by 2030, 20% by 2035, and 70% by 2050. Meanwhile, flights departing from the UK will also begin with a 2% SAF blend in 2025, with targets set at 10% by 2030 and 22% by 2040.
