Indonesia: Pertamina launches 10 mg/kg sulfur diesel

Indonesia's national oil company Pertamina launched a new diesel grade, Diesel X, on January 30, 2025.

Diesel X, which is produced at the company’s Balongan refinery, is said to meet Euro 5-enabling diesel quality standard, with a maximum sulfur limit of 10 mg/kg. Production capacity for the new fuel stands at 200,000 barrels per month (about 6,667 barrels per day).

However, it is unknown whether this grade will contain biodiesel/fatty acid methyl ester.
