U.S.: ethanol exports grow as E15 bill is reintroduced and tariff dispute with Brazil intensifies

In recent weeks, the U.S. ethanol industry has witnessed significant developments, including peaked export announcements, renewed legislative efforts to expand E15 (a gasoline blend containing 15% v/v ethanol) availability, and escalating trade tensions with Brazil and other countries. In early February 2025, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released data showing that U.S. ethanol exports reached an all-time high in 2024, marking a 36% increase from the previous year. Canada remained the top destination, accounting for 35% of total exports, followed by th
