On June 13, 2025, the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero announced over GBP 500 million (USD 672 million) in funding for hydrogen infrastructure.
According to the announcement, this funding is dedicated to the first regional development of a hydrogen transport and storage network, connecting hydrogen producers with end users, including power stations and industry, for the first time. The industrial regions include Merseyside, Teesside and the Humber, including their supply chains.
