On July 7, 2025, the EU adopted a delegated regulation to define a methodology for assessing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions savings from low-carbon fuels. This methodology follows approaches similar to those in Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1185, which assesses GHG emissions savings from renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs) and recycled carbon fuels (RCFs). The rationale behind this similarity is to ensure legislative consistency and provide a level playing field for all non-fossil fuels.
