Labeling
On November 11, 2017, the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) published the legislation for the regulation of the labeling of liquid fuels at fuel stations. For gasoline, the information to be displayed is as follows:
•Octane index
•For ethanol blends, the letter E followed by the ethanol content in % v/v (e.g. E10)
The grades of gasoline and content of ethanol are indicated with colors:
•Green: regular gasoline (anti knock index between 87 and 91)
•Red: premium gasoline (anti knock index 91 minimum)
•Blue: to indicate the % v/v of ethanol in E10 gasoline when the content is between 9 and 10% v/v (at the moment, this maximum ethanol content is not permitted)
