Biodiesel Blend Mandate

Minnesota has a biodiesel blend mandate for all diesel fuel sold in the state since 2005. Introduction dates for different blend mandates can be seen in the table below.

As of May 1, 2018, during the months of April through September, diesel fuel sold in the state must be at least B20. Diesel fuel sold during the remaining months of the year must contain at least 5% biodiesel (B5).
