Bio-based diesel production capacity

In France, biodiesel production capacity has remained above 2 million tonnes per year and the capacity has remained the same since 2012 to 2019 (except 2017). In 2019, Total started operating its hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) production plant of 500 thousand tonnes. However, biodiesel production has decreased since 2020, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Note that the 2021 data is provisional.
