Diesel and Other Middle Distillates
The EPA’s proposed changes to diesel regulations appear to be less significant than those it has proposed for gasoline, but are nevertheless worthy of note. Many of the proposed changes are couched on the notion that the migration of several different applications of distillate fuel (e.g. on-road diesel, heating oil, marine diesel, locomotive diesel) to a common sulfur limit over time, thus reducing the need for separate regulations applicable to each distinct type of use the fuel is subject to. The changes under consideration are:
