Logistics and distribution
In Egypt, the downstream sector is state-controlled and does not have any private investment, except in marketing and storage activities. The state-owned company Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and its subsidiaries are the only distributors of petroleum products.
The major fuel suppliers include Co-operation Petroleum (CO-OP, a subsidiary of EGPC, owns ), Misr, The Nile, Wataneya, Total Egypt, Emarat Misr (), Taqa, Libya Oil, Emirates, Petromin and Exxon Mobil.
According to the Egyptian of Petroleum, the total number of fuel stations amounted to 3,569 on February 13, 2024.
