Exports and imports

According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM), Oman primarily exports RON 91 gasoline. However, starting in 2022 and 2023, the country also began exporting RON 95 gasoline, mainly to markets in Asia (including China, Singapore, and India), as well as to Africa, and to a lesser extent, Europe and the United States. In 2023, Oman exported approximately 319 million liters of RON 91 and 159 million liters of RON 95 gasoline.

On the import side, Oman typically imports premium gasoline grades—mainly RON 95 or RON 98—only during periods of refinery maintenance or temporary shutdowns. For example, in 2020, gasoline imports surged to over 500 million liters, but this volume declined significantly to just 16 million liters by 2023.
