Conventional gasoline
The Algerian Institute of Normalization (IANOR) has published two gasoline specifications: one for leaded gasoline and another for unleaded gasoline. Although leaded gasoline was phased out in 2021 according to the government, leaded gasoline specifications should still be revoked.
NA 8108:1998 implemented two grades of leaded gasoline: regular with RON 89, and premium with RON 96. The NA 11042:1998 standard is for unleaded gasoline with RON 95. Both standards allow sulfur content of up to 100 mg/kg sulfur in gasoline.
On July 1, 2021, unleaded gasoline the only gasoline grade available on the Algerian market, according to the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines.
Specifications can be checked in the SGS INSPIRE specifications database.
