Supply and demand

Sudan’s domestic diesel production but it can only meet about 10% of total domestic demand. In 2013, the Khartoum refinery reduced its diesel production capacity as can be seen in the figure below.

Diesel consumption was steadily in the range of 3,000-4,000 million liters from 2014 to 2019, but demand fell in 2020 due to restrictions brought in in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
