Taxes
In Bangladesh, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) is the apex tax authority. It collects 95% of all taxes, including gasoline. Gasoline sold in Bangladesh is produced at the country’s own refinery or imported. Gasoline sold domestically is subject to two taxes and two funds.
•Import tariff – 10%
•Value-added tax (VAT) – 2.1%
•Transport fare fund – BDT 0.9 (USD 0.013)/liter
•Petroleum industry development fund – BDT 0.1 (USD 0.002)/liter
