    Refining
    In Myanmar, there are three refineries, including two standalone and one petroleum complex, all operated by the state-owned Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise under the Ministry of Energy (MOE). As of June 2024, only the petroleum complex remains operational and is producing petroleum products, while the two refineries were shut down in 2017 and 2019.
    The No. 1 refinery, located in Thanlyin, Yangon Region, began operations in 1962 and underwent an upgrade in 1985. Initially processing local crude oil, it started handling imported crude oil in 1990, producing gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and special boiling point solvents. However, in April 2017,
