In December 2023, the European Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation into biodiesel imports originating from China. This investigation stems from grievances by European Union (EU) biodiesel manufacturers, alleging that Chinese imports are being sold at unfairly low prices, thereby detrimentally affecting the EU's domestic biodiesel sector. The European Biodiesel Board (EBB) has also highlighted that this practice has led to several biofuel production facilities closing across EU member states.
