Ethanol Blending

In the U.S., about 95% of all gasoline sold is E10. More than half of the states blended more than 10% vol. ethanol in gasoline on average in 2018, while Iowa blended 11.5% vol. ethanol and Minnesota blended 12.5% vol. ethanol.

It can be assumed that some of the states with a blend level higher than 10% vol. in total in gasoline are distributing E85, E15 or other higher ethanol blends.

The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) estimates that on the federal level, E15 sales reached 280 million gallons (1,060 million liters) in 2018, with the ethanol content of 42 million gallons (159 million liters).
