Neat biodiesel (B100) and blends

Neat biodiesel, also known as B100, refers to 100% biodiesel without any petroleum-based diesel blend. There are no federal requirements governing the quality of B100. Similarly, there are no minimum biodiesel blend requirements set by the federal government via the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), nor any attendant quality requirements for these blends. That said, the volumetric requirements established by the Renewable Fuel Standard (including specific requirements for blending biomass-based diesel) create a strong incentive for blending to take place.
