Colombia consumes more gasoline than it can produce. Therefore, imports are needed. The entirety of the country’s own fuel ethanol production is used to fulfill the blend mandate; thus, no important volumes of ethanol fuel are exported (only off spec ethanol or ethanol that does not meet the specifications to be used as fuel).
