Supply and Demand

Libya is a large producer of crude oil, however, refining capacity and operations are not enough to meet domestic demand, and fuel smuggling contributes to further reduction of the supply. About 70% of Libya´s fuel demand is imported.

The production and consumption of gasoline are shown in the figure below, for the period 2007-2017.
