Metallic Additives
Among metallic additives, lead used to be limited at 0.013 g/l up until 2019; currently it is limited at 0.005 g/l. Manganese (Mn) is limited at 2 ppm under current legislation. Prior to EAS 158:2019 standard, Mn was not regulated. The SGS WWFS does not reveal any lead content but indicates a significant content of iron between 2010 and 2018; however, it has been decreasing over the years.
Looking at Mn, there are records of its use in the whole study period. As of 2019, however, the use of Mn should decrease up to 2 ppm, according to legislation.
