In current Tanzanian specifications, the regulated benzene content is 3% v/v, and aromatics have to be reported. Olefins are not regulated in Tanzania.
According to the SGS WWFS rasults, the aromatics content in 2018 was at 42% v/v, which is the new Kenyan regulatory limit and the future Tanzanian limit, when EAS 158:2019 will be transposed into legislation. Benzene content in gasoline has varied over the years, and in 2018 it was at about 1.6% v/v, below the current regulatory limit.
