Recent developments

In 2023, a new Egyptian standard, EOS 4083/2023 which sets requirement for premium diesel grade also referred to as Solar Super Diesel, was published. This diesel grade is exported to other countries. The maximum sulfur limit remained unchanged at 500 mg/kg, compared to the 2008 specification (EOS 4083/2008).
