Supply and Demand

This section describes demand for fossil and alternative fuel sales for road transport, including their grades per biofuel and octane in relation to gasoline.

The figure below indicates that biodiesel is the most popular alternative fuel in Denmark, followed by bioethanol. There are small sales of compressed natural gas (CNG) for road transport. There are no sales of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) for road transport, nor pure biofuel blends, e.g. 100% biodiesel, 100% hydrotreated vegetable oil or gasoline contained bioethanol at 85% v/v (E85).
