Cetane
The Danish legislation, namely the on the quality petrol, diesel and gas oil for use in motor vehicles, requires a minimum cetane number (CN) of 51.0.
The SGS WWFS shows that the cetane numbers of all diesel samples taken in 2017 were, on average, below the minimum of 51.0.
Overall, 11% of the samples taken between 2015 and 2020, did not meet the cetane nuber (CN) regulatory limit of min 51.0. The lowest cetane numbers, with results of 50.0 and 50.4, were found in diesel samples taken in 2017. Each of these off-spec diesel samples were taken in the same Danish region, however they were different grades and from different petrol stations.
