Alcohol

In the United Arab Emirates, the government does not mandate the use of alcohol (ethanol and/or methanol) in gasoline. Moreover, the national gasoline standard, UAE.S: 5018:2021, does not set any limits on alcohol in gasoline.

SGS Worldwide Fuel Survey (WWFS) results from regular gasoline samples taken in 2012-2023 showed that samples taken between 2012 and 2018 contained a small amount of alcohol. The figures below show the average ethanol and methanol content in gasoline samples, 2012-2022.
