According to the Energy and Regulatory Petroleum Authority’s Energy & Petroleum statistic report, the demand for diesel remained consistent for the financial years 2020 to 2022. For the financial year 2022-2023 (start of July 2022 to end of June 2023), there was a slight decrease in consumption compared with the financial year 2021-2022, which was attributed to suppressed demand due to high fuel prices in the local and international markets.
