Off-road diesel

In 2020, Mongolia is still relies heavily on Euro 2 enabling diesel. Therefore, Mongolia’s government again implemented the “Diesel fuel for diesel engine” specification, MNS 6861: 2020 in July 2020, which regulates K2 diesel quality. This specification was drafted by Mongolia standard analyst, S. Soronzonbold and published by the Mongolia Agency for Standard and Metrology (MASM). Furthermore, this specification adapted from the previous specification, MNS 0216:2006, and Russia’s diesel specification, GOST 305.

This specification divided K2 diesel into two, with different maximum sulfur limits, 500 mg/kg and 2,000 mg/kg. Moreover, the specification regulated different properties in different seasons.
