Other alternative fuels to diesel
In addition to biodiesel, the Mongolian government sets a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) specification for automobiles, MNS 5084:2001, of November 2001. This specification divided LPG for automobile into two: PA (propane) and PBA (propane and butane). PA LPG is used in ambient temperatures of -20⁰C to -35⁰C in the winter season, while PBA LPG is applicable in any climate region with temperatures higher than -20⁰C.
The major differences between these grades of LPG are their methane/ethane content and vapor pressure.
Details of the LPG specifications are available in the SGS INSPIRE fuel specification database.
