Recent developments

In July 2022, Sudan had already raised local fuel prices twice in response to the Russia-Ukraine military conflict with diesel prices reaching SDG 642 (USD 1.41) per liter, up from SDG 347 (USD 0.78).

In 2021, the Sudanese Ministry of Energy and Oil fully scrapped fuel subsidies, a decision which significantly increased fuel prices in the country.
