Projects related to green ammonia production

China is the world’s largest ammonia producer, followed by India. Coal and natural gas are the feedstocks most used for ammonia production in this region.

At present, there are no large-scale green ammonia plants operating in this region. However, ammonia producers and technology companies are working towards a greener approach. Based on the renewable energy requirement to produce green ammonia, it is highly likely that new green ammonia plants will be built in countries with abundant resources of solar, wind or hydropower energy.
