Vehicle fleet

According to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, the total number of vehicles in Iran in 2020 was 15,962,671 units, about 1,833,000 more than in 2015. Of these, 13,958,000 (87%) were passenger cars, and 2,005,000 (13%) were commercial vehicles. Beyond 2020, data on domestic vehicle sales in Iran was not available. However, according to the Iran Statistics Center data cited by the Iran Police, 36,323,701 cars were registered in Iran at the end of 2020.
