Exhaust emission standards
Iran’s Department of Environment (Environmental Protection Organization or EPO) is responsible for setting environmental policies, including vehicle exhaust emission standards. This department is attached to the president’s office but operates under the Environmental High Council established by the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act of 1974.
