Production capacity

There are several companies that have indicated their potential for production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Europe. However, it is not known whether they are already producing SAF, or in what quantities. The table below indicates a list of companies that currently produce hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) or plan on producing it. The majority of these are able to produce SAF in the form of hydro-processed esters and fatty acids (HEFA) which is the most popular technology for SAF production. There are more companies that plan on producing HVO and thus potentially HEFA. Neste is currently the largest SAF producer.
