Trends in offtake agreements

Given the level of uncertainty still surrounding the economic feasibility of capacity investments, securing firm commitments from potential sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) buyers remains a key element of the fuel’s future prospects. Announcements of offtake agreements have been growing more frequent: nevertheless, these announcements should not always be taken at face value, as the firmness of the agreement (e.g. the presence of explicit penalties for failure to deliver product and/or failure to receive it) is not always apparent from public disclosures.
