Methanol
Iraqi gasoline standard IQS 455/2016 does not set any limits for methanol content in gasoline.
In 2017, gasoline samples tested by the SGS Worldwide Fuel Survey showed an average of 0.32% v/v methanol content with the highest being 2.10% v/v. Since then, no methanol was found until 2021, when the average methanol content was 0.02% v/v and the highest level found was 0.22% v/v. The figure below shows the average methanol in gasoline samples taken in 2013 and 2017-2021.
