Resolution No. 731/2005
established that as of January 1, 2007, emission limits in new models of light-duty vehicles (LDVs) using liquid fuels had to be tested and comply with European Directive 1998/69/EC (Stage A) or United Nations Regulation R83/05/ECE (Euro 3). For those LDVs fueled with gaseous fuels or dual systems of liquid and gaseous fuels, the tests and methodologies established in European Directive 1998/77/EC applied.
