Peru’s Ministry of Environment establishes maximum permissible limits of atmospheric emissions for vehicles. On November 30, 2017, Peru adopted Supreme Decree No. 010-2017-MINAM, presented by the Ministry of Environment, which establishes maximum permissible limits of atmospheric emissions for automotive vehicles. As of April 1, 2018, vehicle emission standards are Euro 4/IV, Tier II and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2007. This decree was amended by Supreme Decree No. 029-2021-MINAM of October 16, 2021, which follows the international trend of transition towards the use of vehicles that comply with emission standards in accordance with Euro technology 6/VI, Tier 3 and EPA 2010, as of October 2024.
