Two and three-wheelers

The Polluting Gas Emissions Control Program for mopeds and motorcycles (Promot) was instituted by Conama Resolution No. 297 from February 26, 2002, shortly after the implementation of emission controls for light vehicles. In addition to this legal framework, new regulations have been published to gradually reduce the emission of pollutants and noise. On January 1, 2023, the fifth phase of the program for new models of motorcycles, mopeds and similar (M5) began, according to CONAMA Resolution No. 493, from June 24, 2019 (equivalent to the Euro 5 standard).
