Regulations
Gasoline specifications generally differ between each country in Africa, except in parts of East Africa, Central Africa and Southern Africa, where regional fuel quality harmonizations exist to some extent.
•In East Africa, regional standards setting fuel specifications are independently adopted in the six member states of the East African Community: Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda
•In Central Africa, three countries directly apply the fuel specifications of Cameroon: Central African Republic, Chad and Equatorial Guinea
•In Southern Africa, four countries have adopted gasoline specifications similar to South Africa: Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland
