Octane grades used globally

The US, Brazil and Canada are the first, third and fifth biggest gasoline consumers respectively. This makes the gasoline AKI 87 the most popular grade at the global level. It is followed by the grade RON 92 which is the most popular gasoline grade in China (the second biggest gasoline consumer) and Russia. RON 95 remains the most popular grade in Europe (EU and the Balkan countries). Lower gasoline grades RON 87 - 93 dominate in other big gasoline markets such as Japan, Russia and Mexico, India and Australia.
